Florida State Parks with Sewer Hookups at Each Campsite

Suwannee River State Park is exceptional for escaping into Florida’s wilderness — and the campsites have sewer hookups.

Finding a Florida state park campsite with sewer hookups is a bonus. If you camp with a trailer or RV, you know the frustration of conserving water — not for running out of fresh water, but filling up your gray water tank. We have a Camco Rhino portable waste tank that we can use to empty the grey and black water tanks, but it’s so much nicer to have a sewer connection at our campsite.

Every time we want to get away for a while but don’t have a destination in mind, we look for a Florida state park with sewer hookups. I’m not a huge fan of many private campgrounds, but as a rule, they almost always have sewer at each campsite.

But when I want to escape into the quieter parts of Florida, those campgrounds aren’t where I head. Yes, the pools, Tiki bars, grills, and often luxurious (well, as compared to the state parks) bathhouses are nice, but the trade-off is feeling like I’m camping in the suburbs.

And so we prefer Florida’s state parks, but not every park offers the same level of amenities.

Finding a Florida State Park with sewer hookups at each campsite is frustrating.

Camper beware: While many of the parks call themselves “full facility” and others boast they offer “fully equipped”  or “full-service” campgrounds, don’t assume that means they have sewer hookups — often that simply means those campgrounds offer water, electricity, bath houses, and a dump station.

What would make finding these state parks with sewer hookups at each site  so much easier? If the state park reservation system had a filter for “sewer hookups.” It doesn’t.  Because of that, I made a list for our planning purposes, and thought it might help other Florida RV campers.

I’ve gone through all the Florida State Parks and noted the ones that explicitly state they have sewer hookups. Many of the campgrounds that don’t state this might have sewer connections at the ADA-compliant sites, or at the camp host sites. Please check with the specific park for details.

Finally, things change, and while I’ll update this list periodically, always check when you make your reservation. If you find something different than what’s listed here, please email me and let me know!
